Why are we doing this for free?
In April 2010, the Government announced the introduction of the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) to encourage micro generation of solar electricity, ensuring that each kilowatt of solar power generated is bought by the electricity companies, whether that power is used or not. ATASS Solar will claim the FiT payments for each installation to recoup the costs of our investment over the subsequent 25 years.
Is the application process complicated?
After completing a simple application online, one of our advisors will contact you to determine provisionally whether your home is eligible and, if so, to offer you a home survey. The survey will clarify what needs to be done to ensure we can arrange an installation. At that point, you are free to choose whether to become one of our 4,000 Solar Hosts or whether you wish to invest in your own installation to earn the FiT payments for yourself.
Will it cost anything?
If your home is eligible and you agree to host our solar pv panels on your current home for the next 25 years, the service will cost you nothing. We will cover all the costs of installing, maintaining and insuring the panels for the duration of our agreement. Alternatively, if you decide to invest in the installation and equipment yourself in order to earn the FiT payments, we can give you a quotation based on an optimal use of your available roof space.

Solar Host Checklist
- Your home is in the West Country
- Your roof is primarily South Facing
- It's free from shading by trees or buildings
- There is plenty of space for your panels
- The roof is sound and not in need of repair
